From our office in Bursa, our SMMM partners advise companies and individuals on all areas of tax legislation, in particular personal income tax, corporate income tax and value added tax. Our recommendations always stay within the rights provided by law; we do not recommend methods that put your tax security at risk.
Topics we advise on
- Application of Income Tax Law No. 193, Corporate Tax Law No. 5520 and Value Added Tax Law No. 3065
- Stamp duty, fees and banking and insurance transactions tax
- Tax analysis of licence, royalty, technical service, cost-sharing and dealership agreements
- The tax side of financial leasing and similar financing models
- Risks of borrowing from shareholders, thin capitalisation and transfer pricing
- Taxation of services and intangible rights fees received from abroad
Lawful tax planning
Tax planning means enabling you to benefit from the exemptions, deductions and incentives in the legislation to the extent that you meet their conditions. Examples include R&D and design deductions, the reduced corporate tax under an investment incentive certificate, the participation exemption and arrangements for exports.
In transactions such as mergers, demergers, the transfer of a sole proprietorship to a company and the restructuring of the shareholding structure, we also assess the lawful ways of reducing the tax burden. The conditions and amounts of each exemption differ; we calculate the amounts set for the relevant year and the current conditions on the basis of your situation.
Official letters and advance rulings
We prepare proper responses to information requests, invitations to explain (izaha davet) and similar notifications from the tax office. On matters where the legislation is not clear, we use the option provided by Tax Procedure Law No. 213 to request an advance ruling (özelge) from the tax administration and prepare the grounds of the application.
How we work
We offer advisory in two ways: under ongoing advisory we answer your company's tax questions throughout the year and inform you separately of important changes; under project-based work we assess the tax effect of a specific transaction in a written report. For preparing returns, see our tax returns and compliance page, and for cross-border matters our international tax advisory page.

Frequently asked questions
Is tax planning legal?
Yes; benefiting from the exemptions, deductions and options provided by law is the taxpayer's right. On the other hand, transactions that have no genuine economic purpose and are structured only to avoid tax may be rejected by the tax administration and may be subject to penalties. We prepare our recommendations with this boundary in mind.
What is an advance ruling (özelge) and how is it obtained?
An advance ruling (özelge) is the written opinion of the tax administration on a matter concerning the taxpayer's own situation about which the taxpayer is uncertain. The application is made to the tax administration with a detailed description of the case and the taxpayer's own view. The ruling is an opinion only for the applicant taxpayer and the case described.
I have received a letter from the tax office. What should I do?
First check the type of letter and the response period given; an information request, an invitation to explain and a notice of tax inspection have different consequences. When you send us the letter and the related documents, we prepare a proper response within the deadline.
Which tax deductions can I benefit from?
This depends on your field of activity, your investments and your export and R&D activities. In the initial meeting we listen to you about your business, list the exemptions and deductions that may apply and explain the conditions and estimated effect of each. To arrange a meeting, you can reach us via our contact page.
